CHRISTMAS PHOTO IDEAS:
1. COZY BY THE CHRISTMAS TREE
Holidays at home are the best and one of the reasons why I love the Christmas season. Your Christmas tree makes for the ultimate insta-worthy photo prop, no matter how big or how small! Christmas trees are full of light, personality and the Christmas spirit, so get on your comfy jammies or your favorite Christmas outfit and set-up some shots!
A cup of hot cocoa, Christmas cookies, gifts, ornaments and a cute friend are the perfect props in front of your tree.
2. TRIMMING THE TREE
Who else loves decorating for Christmas? I do! Ornaments make for a great prop for photos too! While you’re decorating, grab some extra ornaments and snap some shots trimming the tree, on the ladder or throwing them in the air! Just make sure they aren’t breakable 😉
3. PLAY WITH PRESENTS
‘Tis the season for giving! Grab a gift or two and use a present as a prop with your favorite Christmas look, sharing a special moment with a friend or by your Christmas tree.
Pro tip: I always try to coordinate or contrast my gift-wrap with the scene or my outfit!
4. GET COMFY BY THE FIRE
The fireplace is the heart of the home and the source of warmth, conversation and all of the cozy vibes. If you have a fireplace in your home, set up some Christmas decor and grab some Christmas comfies for a super cute shot by the fire! Hot cocoa, candles and fireside snacks make for great props to stage the scene.
5. CHRISTMAS CHEERS
Celebrate the season with a Christmas cocktail or two! I love a good cocktail in a festive atmosphere and it always gives me all of the holiday feels! To transform your home or backyard into a cozy space for a cocktail, add some Christmas lights or battery-operated fairy lights, candles, cozy pillows and throws.
6. LIGHT IT UP!
My favorite thing about the holidays: Christmas lights! I’ve always loved Christmas light displays since I was a little girl and now is no exception! Christmas light photos are best when its just hitting just past sunset, so it’s not too light and not too dark.
7. LET IT (FAKE) SNOW
If you live somewhere where it snows, lucky you! I unfortunately live in a humid climate in Texas where its mostly hot year-round…. so, no snow! I have always wanted a white Christmas, so I decided to create some snow of my own! Even if you live in a snowy city, sometimes the snow doesn’t hit just right and a snow overlay from Etsy + Photoshop Fix App can do the trick! Check out my 30 second tutorial here
8. SWEETS, TREATS & ANYTHING TO EAT
You guys know I’m a foodie and Christmas is no exception! I love baking holiday cookies, creating a cute Christmas tree Charcuterie board and allllllll of the festive snacks! Take your love for food this holiday season and turn it into a cute holiday shot!
