HOW TO GET THERE
Key Largo is one of the Florida Keys that is closest to the mainland. Getting there is easy compared to some of the more remote Keys islands! If you’re coming from out of state or internationally, you can fly into Miami International Airport and arrange transport from there by car. There are three ways of reaching Key Largo, by rental car, by group shuttle bus or by private driver. We wanted to explore more, so we decided to rent a car for our journey! It only took us an hour on the toll roads to reach Key Largo from the airport.
BAKER’S CAY RESORT
Once you’ve finally made the journey to Key Largo, you will arrive at this dreamy island resort! The resort is located directly on the turquoise blue beach, with endless views of the sunset in the distance. We enjoyed sunset drinks and room service on our balcony the first night, soaking up all of the cotton candy sky sunset!
Baker’s Cay Resort has plenty to explore. With an adult’s only pool, kids pool, two beaches, a tanning lawn weekly activities like bootcamp classes or movies on the lawn, two bars and two restaurants, you are sure not to get bored! We spent most of our time in Key Largo relaxing at the beach and enjoying the property activities.
If you’re adventurous like me, you will love taking the bike rentals out to cruise around Key Largo to explore. Cruise the bikes into town and check out some of Key Largo’s shops and restaurants.
Baker’s Cay has two on-site restaurants: Calusa, which serves up breakfast favorites and upscale dinner options or Dry Rocks which is more casual all-day venue for food and drinks. If you’re looking for an island cocktail, grab one from the Tiki Bar or Pool Bar!
If you like to get active on your vacations, the resort has lush ground to take a walk or jog. There is also a fitness center and group fitness classes with a private instructor available to guests.
