Dreaming of a flower bath, but can’t make it all the way to Bali? I feel you girl! I spoiled myself with a few flower baths while traveling in Bali, and let me tell you… they are just as amazing as they look! The fragrant flowers and bath oils are such a relaxing experience and a great way to have some much-needed me-time…. I mean, who doesn’t like the combo of flowers AND self-care?
In this How-To, I’m going to show you just how easy it is to create your own Balinese floral bath at home. Now, you won’t have to wait to travel all the way to Bali to pamper yourself with all of the floral goodness.
While in Bali, I had the most amazing floral baths at Kaveri Spa at the Udaya, Karsa Spa, and Maya Ubud. Each bath was truly unique and I highly recommend booking a flower bath service at one of these spots if you are traveling in Bali! If you’re looking for intricate flower designs, the Celebration of Flowers ritual at Kaveri Spa is THE spot in Bali, and if you’re looking for an ambiance more embedded in nature, check out Karsa Spa or Maya Ubud.
HOW TO CREATE A BALINESE FLOWER BATH AT HOME
Follow these 5 simple steps below to create your own Balinese flower bath at home!
STEP 1: PICK YOUR FLOWERS
Purchase flower petals or flower stems from your local florist or order flowers online. I chose to buy a combination of flower stems to create my own rose petals with a mixture of flower buds from daisies, carnations and chrysanthemums.
Pro Tip: Choose small & light-weight flowers that won’t sink in the bath.
STEP 2: PREP YOUR PETALS
If you’ve chosen to purchase flower stems instead of petals, you will need to prepare your petals. Tear the bulb from the stem and pull apart the petals or keep the entire flower bulb intact. When I created my at-home floral bath, I tore apart the rose petals because they were too heavy to float, but I kept the other flowers intact.
STEP 3: DRAW YOUR BATH
Draw your bath with warm water and add any essential oils or epsom salt of your choosing. Turn the warm water off and top your bath with cold water. The flowers will float if there is a layer of cold water on top of the bath. If you fill your bath to the top with warm water, the flowers will sink.
STEP 4: ADD THE FLOWERS TO YOUR BATH
Now, it’s time to add the flowers to your bath! Place down the petals and buds randomly or get creative and make your own design!
STEP 5: ENJOY!
Ready for the ultimate at-home relaxation? Well, you’ve earned it! Your beautiful flower bath is ready and it’s all about me-time. Pamper yourself with your favorite products, try a new face mask, read a book, light a candle and pour a glass of wine.
