It’s a great feeling to be in a new city with a group of girls you’ve known online for years, but never met in person! This is what I love Instagram for – creating connections that go beyond the confines of place and connect us from around the world. These girls quickly became some of new best friends and we had the BEST time exploring Salt Lake City, Utah together for our very first trip to this city. We planned a weekend full of road trips, great food, shopping and some down time at our super cute (and very instagrammable!) hotel at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake City quickly became one of our favorite trips we’ve ever taken & not only because we had just met and made an instant connection as friends- this city truly has it all! As a central hub to access all of the natural beauty of Utah, we spent the long weekend taking short road trips from Salt Lake City and came back to our cute hotel suite to relax before hitting the town for some of Salt Lake City’s best food and drinks. Some of our favorite foodie spots were the in-house restaurant at the hotel, Bambara, serving up new American food in a bright and lively space, and nearby trendy restaurants just around the corner from the hotel, The Ivy and Eva’s Bakery.
We loved starting off our early mornings with breakfast-in-bed & had to take advantage of the opportunity for a slumber party-themed photoshoot with our coordinating PJ’s and delicious breakfast spread! If you have a hotel room this cute, then an insta-worthy shot is a must!
Pro Tip: If you’re wanting to do a hotel photo shoot, spice it up with some of the hotel’s signature food and beverages to add some storytelling and add a coffee cup, flowers or a newspaper as a prop!
Another thing we loved about Salt Lake City is how easy the city was to navigate! We did rent a car, but when we were in the city, everything was accessible by foot or by bike! Lucky for us, Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City had super cute bike rentals that we were able to take out for the day to explore some of the city sights and shopping!
This trip was truly one that none of us will ever forget & we cannot wait to make our trip back to this city to explore even more! If you’re planning a trip to Salt Lake City, we most definitely recommend a stay at our favorite boutique hotel to start your journey. The staff was more than accommodating and the location was perfect for us as a base for our adventures both in and outside of the city!
