Mykonos, Greece is a bucket list travel destination, and I’m so happy I finally got to visit this iconic Greek island this summer! I was nervous that Mykonos wouldn’t live up to the hype, but it met all of my expectations and then some. Not only does this island have gorgeous beaches and an uber-charming, instagrammable town, but the nightlife, shopping and restaurant scene were up to par with some of my most favorite cities I’ve traveled to. If you’re planning a trip to Mykonos and want to capture the best moments for the ‘gram, I’ve put together this curated guide of all of my favorite photo-worthy spots in Mykonos!

1. LA MAISON DE KATRIN
This gorgeous bougainvillea-filled street is right in front of La Maison de Katrin restaurant which is open every evening for dinner service. The best time to capture this street is in the morning when the streets are still quiet and before the restaurant starts setting up the tables for dinner. We wanted to dine here in the evening, but ran out of time unfortunately. We heard great things about this restaurant and I do recommend coming back here for a meal. The atmosphere with the flowers with tables lining the side walk is truly unique!
2. MYKONOS WINDMILLS
The Mykonos Windmills are icons of the island and a must-visit spot in Mykonos town. We went to this spot at sunrise (first photo) and sunset (second photo) and both times of day were very windy, so make sure to check the forecast and wear clothing that works with the wind. Sunrise was empty, but the light was in the opposite direction of the view whereas at sunset the light was perfect, though there was a huge crowd.
3. NEGRITA BAR
Negrita Bar is located in the heart of Little Venice with a stunning view of the turquoise blue water and Mykonos windmills. If you would like to enjoy a cocktail on the deck, come early afternoon as it tends to get more crowded as sunset approaches.
4. MSPACE BOUTIQUE
MySpace Boutique Mykonos is situated on a beautiful, quiet corner framed by pink bougainvillea flowers. This street is fairly quiet, though it can get crowded as cruise ships begin to explore the town. If you want the street to yourself, come early!
5. #HAPPINESS MYKONOS
#HAPPINESS Mykonos is a clothing store located near the Little Venice area with the iconic #HAPPINESS logo. This street gets very crowded midday, so if you want an empty shot make sure to come by in the morning!
6. HIBISCUS CAFE
If you’re looking for a cute cafe in the center of town, Hibiscus is your spot for crepes, gelato, coffee and pastries. This casual little cafe became insta-famous with its cute exterior and yummy treats! We had gelato and pastries for breakfast (because we’re on vacation so, why not!)
7. LITTLE VENICE
Little Venice is one of the most beautiful parts of Mykonos, Greece. It is the area of Mykonos town where the buildings meet the sea. There are a ton of charming bars, cafes and restaurants that line this area and it’s a great spot for a sunset view. If you’re wanting to get a photo here without the crowds, make sure to come in the morning, though I thought it was beautiful crowded at sunset too!
8. MAMALOUKA
Mamalouka is another one of Mykonos’ charming restaurants. The massive bougainvillea and cacti that frame the front of the restaurant are certainly a showstopper and the inside of the restaurant is just as cute for an evening meal!
9. PANAGIA PARAPORTIANI
This white church is the most photographed church in Mykonos and one of the most photographed churches in the world. It has an impressive structure with typical architecture of the region, a long history and it is located nearby Little Venice in Mykonos town.
10. VERANDA BAR
If you’re looking for a breakfast spot with a view, Veranda Bar is my favorite. Located in Little Venice on the water, Veranda Bar has a selection of breakfast favs, coffees and an amazing view of Little Venice and the Mykonos Windmills in the distance
11. ROOM WITH A VIEW
Mykonos is full of beautiful hotels and resorts with gorgeous rooms, private pools and ocean views. If you’re looking for a bucket-list stay that is perfect for the ‘gram, check out a few of my favorite properties here on the island: Cavo Tagoo Mykonos, Anax Mykonos, Mykonos Riviera, Panormos Village Hotel and Hotel Palladium.
12. MYKONOS VIEW POINT
This secret spot has the best view of Mykonos town from above. It is located off the beaten path and it is a bit difficult to find, but I’ve marked it on my map above for you as Mykonos Overlook. You have to hike up to this spot from town and there is a small patch of land to the right of this marker on the map I’ve provided where you will find this “unofficial” viewpoint.
13. BLUE STREET
I first saw this street on Instagram and knew I had to find it, but most of the Mykonos streets look very similar and it was difficult to find! We finally realized that the street we had been looking for was right in front of us and that one of the neighbors painted their home adornments grey instead of blue which was confusing us! This street is located directly in front of Hibiscus Cafe. Hibiscus Cafe has both a front door and a side door, and this street is in front of the side door! You can see the door to the cafe behind me.
14. KASTRO’S RESTAURANT
Kastro’s is quite possibly one of the most photographed restaurants in the world. The seaside tables next to the crashing waves in Little Venice are absolutely iconic and it is worth a stop to visit this beautiful space! The restaurant sets up its tables around 10 am and you can reserve for lunch or dinner service. Unfortunately, we did not have time to dine here, so we snapped a quick photo as set up for the day was beginning!
15. STREETS OF MYKONOS TOWN
Simply wandering around the streets of Mykonos town was one of my favorite things to do. I loved getting lost and finding hidden gems and beautiful corners around every turn. My favorite secret find this trip was the beautiful street labeled as Cute Photo Street in my map above (first photo below) and the charming little street near our airbnb (second photo below).
During our trip, we searched long and hard for these cute little churches with colorful flags in front of them and unfortunately, both of the churches were under construction or had taken their flags down, so I’ve excluded them from this list. However, we did find another cute flag-covered courtyard nearby a similar church next to the Louis Vuitton Mykonos store where we snapped some photos with our colorful gelatos!
16. 180 SUNSET BAR
180 Sunset Bar is one of the best sunset views in all of Mykonos and a major bucket-list check for first timers to the island! The cocktails and minimum reservation spends are quite pricey depending on what area you would like to sit in as different areas require different minimum spends and you have to reserve far in advance to secure your preferred seating area. We were unsure if we had time to go, so we didn’t reserve and came as walk-ins to the bar area where no minimum spend was required.
17. PELAGOS GIFT SHOP
This charming gift shop is one of the cutest in the area, though Mykonos is full of quaint boutiques filled with local goods with a boho flair, home decor and stylish clothing! I loved shopping in Mykonos town and searching for unique finds to take home as souvenirs.
